The Trip

On the 20th April Dave and I made the journey to the Ferry Port at Plymouth for the start of our long journey to retrieve my furniture. Taking the night Ferry to Rosscroff ,we had a quiet crossing ,arriving at 8am and promptly headed for Huelgoat, just over an hour away. On arrival we were greeted by Bet & Douglas , Friends who have kept the furniture in storage. After a cup of tea and a chat we began loading the lorry which was hard work. with the loading finished by mid afternoon I took Dave down to the village to have a look around and to see the old house (Dave was impressed). we stopped off at the Brittany bar for a much needed drink, Sitting in the sun outside the bar we soon forgot the time. We were due to have a meal at the Hotel Du Lac at 7pm with Bet & Douglas, realising that we were late we headed up the hill only to be met by B&D coming down, having second thoughts about getting changed we headed to the Hotel where we enjoyed a good meal and more to drink. The following morning after saying goodbye to our Hosts we made the return journey arriving back in Bristol at 12pm.

House Purchase

Well the purchase went through on the 26th march, the cottage is now officially ours.
Making arrangements with Dave (Brother in law) who has offered to collect the furniture from France and then take it to Orkney, a round trip of about 1600+ miles. We will be making the first leg of the journey, Bristol to Huelgoat, France on the 20th April, returning on the 22nd, we will then have a one day rest before leg two, Bristol to Orkney and back.
If all goes to plan Jill & I will be flying up to Orkney on the 3rd of May.

Damien.
Damien has just returned from another holiday, This time he spent ten day’s bird watching in Nepal.
He had a great time and added around 240 + new birds to his ever expanding list, plus about twenty five mammal species, including Greater One-horned Rhino, Asiatic Golden Jackal & Sloth Bear.
He has returned to work now, so the high did not last for long. Still there will be plenty more trips you can be sure of that.
